As an OT engineer, my factory floor has machines from five different vendors with proprietary protocols. How does IGG Axion establish a unified IIoT connectivity layer without replacing existing hardware?
IGG Axion deploys industrial edge gateways that act as protocol translators, supporting OPC-UA, Modbus TCP/RTU, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, MQTT, and BACnet in parallel. Each machine is assigned a gateway adapter that normalises raw PLC or sensor data into a unified data model — eliminating vendor lock-in at the edge. The resulting structured data stream is then published to a Unified Namespace (UNS), accessible by any higher-level application including SCADA, MES, ERP, or AI analytics engines. This approach is non-invasive and preserves all existing hardware investments.
We have a brownfield environment — legacy PLCs running ladder logic from the 1990s. Can IGG Axion extract meaningful data from them without modifying control programs?
Yes. IGG Axion uses passive data tapping through serial or Ethernet sniffing techniques to extract data from legacy PLCs without modifying the control logic or risking production stability. Where passive tapping is insufficient, we deploy lightweight OPC-DA/UA servers alongside the PLC environment. Our engineers have deep experience with Siemens S5/S7, Allen-Bradley SLC 500, and Mitsubishi FX series — all brownfield-common platforms. The extracted data is then mapped to ISA-95-compliant models for clean integration with modern IIoT stacks.
